“Miami Moon” combines lots of intrigue and criminal action with a South Florida flair

West Palm Beach, FL - by CRL Media - Cuban born author and entrepreneur Jorge E. Goyanes has been busy for the last couple of years writing his second mystery book titled “Miami Moon.” This book marks the return of the uber sarcastic classic car restorer and private eye Jose Castillo which is a character that made its debut on Goyanes 2012 book “Miami Beat”. A Cuban-American raised and based in Miami, Castillo is a throwback to the days when justice was handled “mano a mano”. In this fun and intense book, Castillo goes up against the Russian mafia, criminals and a serial killer targeting sex workers on the streets of Miami.

Miami Moon offers a fully-developed cast of characters, which includes Jim Gafford, Castillo’s side kick and tech genius friend, who keeps him up with the latest security and surveillance gadgets; also present is his best friend Nate Devine, a homicide detective with the Miami PD who spends much of his time trying to decide whether to thank Jose for his help or throw him in jail for interfering with an investigation. “It was like visiting old friends” said Goyanes on writing his second novel. “It has recurring characters from the first book and I feel I captured the flavor of Miami, South Beach and South Florida down pat” he added.

Goyanes life itself could be a book: he defied the odds when his parents sent him to the U.S in 1961 to live with aunts and uncles who fled Cuba because they were in the Batista military or police. His mother staying behind in Cuba due to the fact that his father was a political prisoner and thinking like most Cuban nationals that it was going to be a temporary situation. The author grew up in Miami and attended Miami High and Miami Dade College until he turned eighteen and moved to New York. His former wife brought him back to South Florida where he started working and setting roots in the community as well as becoming a small business owner. He also ran for city commission in Lake Worth, and has been on the board of several non-profit organizations.

Miami Moon is published by Fulton Books and paperback sales are available in Amazon and Barnes and Noble with e-book distribution to be available everywhere by the end of February 2017.
