West Palm Beach, FL - by Claudia R. Levy - The third annual Esperanza Awards presented by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County will take place Wednesday, June 13th at the Hilton Palm Beach Airport. The event is presented by Walmart and sponsored by PNC, Arrigo Automotive Group and CRL Media Multicultural Advertising & Public Relations.

This event recognizes stellar Hispanic professionals in Palm Beach County who have made a significant impact in their profession and the community in the categories of business, community and education. The Esperanza Awards is being chaired by Claudia Ruiz Levy of CRL Media Multicultural Advertising and Public Relations and co-chaired by Pam Twiner of Walmart.

This year’s nominees are: 

Business: Adriana Gonzalez of Gonzalez and Cartwright, P.A, Elizabeth Novoa of La Perrada del Gordo, Roxana Scaffidi of Florida Accounting and Advisers, Karen Velez of The Velez Law Firm, P.A., and Esther Sierra of Lion Country Safari.

Community: Ana Barreto of EXP Realty, Aimee Cernicharo of St. Thomas University, Adriana Maya of El Hispano Newspaper, January Romero of Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank and Marta Roque of CareerSource.

Education:  Elizabeth Cayson of Children Services Council, Mabel Datena of Hispanic Human Resources Council, Sandra Medrano-Arroyo of Palm Beach County Schools, Margarita Pinkos of Palm Beach County Schools, Ana M. Thomas of Palm Beach State College Foundation. 

The luncheon will be emceed by WPTV’s Newschannel 5 reporter and anchor Tania Rogers and will feature social worker and journalist Marcela Gomez of the American Consulting and Social Service League as keynote speaker. Mrs. Gomez have dedicated 18 years of her career to help the immigrant community validating and re-certifying their foreign degrees.

A fashion show presented by Dress for Success of The Palm Beaches whose clients will model “The Hope Line” will be a new addition to the event.The word “Hope” translates into “Esperanza” in Spanish. The event will also feature vendors, networking and a silent auction.

Hispanic businesswomen are critical to the economic growth and prosperity of society. As such, the Esperanza Awards features the contributions and leadership of Latina professionals in businesseducation and community” says Maria S. Antuña, Chamber’s Chief Executive Officer.
